Writing for the web is a bit different than other types of writing, especially if you are doing it for marketing purposes.  In any type of writing you need to be able to hold the reader’s attention.  But when it comes to online article marketing, it’s a game for the quick and the dead.

Online Readers Like To Skim
Think about how you search for information on the web.  When you log on to find information, you usually have a pretty good idea of what you are looking for.  You are looking for specific information and whoever can get you that information in the quickest and simplest fashion is going to have your attention.

When you are writing a formal paper or most anything intended for print you expect that your readers will be interested to read what you have to say and you want to hold their interest.  You may focus on being clever, witty, etc.  When you write for online publication however, most of the time providing raw, accurate, easily accessed information is what your readers are going to appreciate the most.  That is what is going to get their attention and keep it.

Formatting For The Online Reader
1)
Use subheadings:  Subheadings are like music to my ears when I am on the hunt for information.  If I come across an article that has no rhyme or reason to it and is just a jumbled bunch of text, even if the information I need is in there somewhere, I’m going to look for it somewhere else.  I want to be able to skim and quickly find exactly what I need as easily as possible, and so will your readers.

2) Use bullets, numbers, etc:  Again, you want to make it as simple as possible for people to navigate your article and find what they are looking for.  Within your article may be several valuable tidbits of information that different people are searching for.  By breaking up that information into easily accessed points you will be able to appeal to all of them.

3) Write short sentences and short paragraphs:  Long run on sentences and novel size paragraphs are intimidating.  People are going to be reading your article voluntarily.  The minute it starts to feel like work, they will be on to the next article hoping it will be easier to read.

So basically you just have to remember to write your articles as though you are going to have to read them.  Would they be interesting to you?  Would they answer your questions?  Would you be able to find those answers easily?  Asking questions like these can really help you to write articles that will be both informative and useful.

Having creative writing ideas and being able to actually record them as they come to mind is a somewhat difficult feat for many to master. How often when you write articles do you seem to lack the right words or the ability to piece your thoughts together in a coherent fashion?

These disruptions to the writing process are very common obstacles that many experience. There are however ways to combat these irritating occurrences and it has more to do with your preparation than it does with your writing skills.

Here are 3 simple measures you can take to improve your writing efforts and minimize some of these common obstacles that interrupt your progress.

Singular Focus

The very first step you need to take to improve your writing efforts is to find your focus on what it is exactly you intend to write about. You can not move forward until this determination has been made. When you are able to narrow this down it then gives you more direction allowing you to better formulate your thoughts and words.

Much like physical effort your results will improve once you are able ‘concentrate’ on your intended objectives or in this case topic. Without the proper focus you will have created a situation that leads to an inefficient use of your time and efforts.

A ‘Fresh’ Mind

Determine for yourself when it is that your mind is most rested and you feel the most focused on your work. For many their mind is usually the most rested upon waking in the morning and before taking on the challenges of the day. Being at an optimum energy level will also help

It is important to take advantage of a fully rested mind when you write articles. By doing so you are better able to avoid any of the needless delays and frustrations that come with losing your focus due to fatigue.

Peace and Quiet

You need to establish a ‘work’ area where there is little or no outside interference to disrupt your train of thought. By doing otherwise you only invite frustration and also will likely increase the amount of time you ‘need’ to write articles.

You want your mind to be clear and in a relaxed state!

Having the ability to record any creative writing ideas as they come to mind is more a practiced skill than a natural born talent. Being able to minimize any distractions that interrupt the writing process is a definite plus for any author. The best way to effectively accomplish this which will improve your writing efforts is preparing both yourself and your environment in advance. By paying closer attention to the 3 measures we just spoke of you can better create a mindset and scenario that will make you more productive when you do write articles.

Learning how to write an article when our creative juices are flowing serves only to make the writing process easier and more productive. It is common for many to become frustrated when writing articles since it seems to take so much time and effort. We often wonder what the heck happened to all those great writing ideas we had earlier. Why does it NOW take so much time and effort to get those thoughts to freely flow as they once had?

Well have you considered that you may be asking your creative mind to produce when perhaps it may not be at its best?

Here are 3 factors that work against your ability to produce on paper any creative writing ideas you may have had earlier.

Fatigue

Your mind is not any different than your body insofar as how it reacts to fatigue. Like in manual labor or competitive sports you can not expect your body to maintain the same level of stamina through extended periods of time. Well along the same lines your mind also is at its best when well rested.

When writing articles you want to take advantage of a well rested mind and for most this time would be upon waking from a nights sleep. As the day grows older your mind and body become more tired and their abilities to function at an optimal level begins to diminish.

Creative Focus

Another factor that affects your ability to churn out any creative writing ideas you may have developed is your own preoccupation with other matters. As the day progresses things occur that need your attention. Now not everything is going to require your immediate attention however you will need to take note and ’schedule’ a time to address certain issues.

At this point you begin to ‘accumulate’ matters of the day in your mind. It is then quite natural to subconsciously begin to organize how you are going to address these matters and when.

Your focus is now divided thereby making your writing efforts more difficult.

Pressure

Throughout the course of the day as things ‘happen’ or events surface that will require attention you are also becoming more fatigued. This eventually leads to a build up of pressure or stress within you system. This stress accelerates your growing fatigue and now your ability to focus is being severely challenged.

Your clear pattern of thought you had earlier in the day has now faded into a distant memory. This results in even a greater challenge to your writing abilities.

Learning how to write an article while your mind is well rested and better prepared to spew out any writing ideas you had earlier will help boost your productivity. In addition the quality of your work will benefit and the writing process will flow more easily. Writing articles can be very frustrating if you spend a lot of your time just staring at a blank screen. By paying more attention to your energy level and how preoccupied your mind may be you can better optimize your writing efforts. Scheduling your time accordingly will serve to better allow you to tap into any creative writing ideas you may have. The end result will be less frustration and time spent at a blank screen and more articles to publish.

Driving traffic to your blog is the secret to making money online and any other internet marketing expert will share with you the same sentiments. Someone once said, “Experience is the best teacher”. I completely concur, because for me to feel confident to reveal the secret behind internet marketing, it took a lot of trial and error over a long period of time.

One of the best website promotion ideas is article marketing. The world is currently thirsty for information and if you can give it to them you are bound to make money online. All you need to do is research on what your target market are looking for online and avail it.

Another feature of article marketing is commenting on postings submitted by other people. In order to bring in the aspect of niche marketing and thus generate targeted traffic, look for articles that are related to yours and add your comments. Make sure your comments are short and insightful.

In addition, do not forget to include your business link on every comment you post. This is also known as, one way link back, which greatly increases the chances for search engines to list your blog or website when people are browsing; mainly because your business link will be appearing on many web pages. Start relating with people who are in the same line of online business thus exchange links and ideas.

Link back is most effective when you exchange link with websites that have a ranking of 2 and above.

Start sharing your online business ideas by commenting on other people’s blogs. With time you will create a niche for yourself thus “niche marketing.” I have shared more internet marketing tips on my blog and hence click the business link below to learn more.

Hey everyone, I wrote an article the other day about the
new course I created called PLR Profits Machine.  We won’t be
able to keep it live and available forever.

In case you don’t know what PLR is, it stands for Private Label
Rights.

And there are PLR sites all over the web. Good AND bad. The way it
works is you pay for the PLR material, which are things like eBooks,
articles, salesletters etc. and you’re allowed to sell them AS YOUR OWN.

So basically, they do the market research and they create the products.
And YOU get to sell them and keep the profits!  Using PLR products
is one of the first things I did to start making money online.

This saves weeks and even months of your time because you can just
piggy back off of products already created, that you can claim as
your own.  In fact, it even saves you the “market research time”
because that’s already done for you too.

In PLR Profits Machine, I teach EVERYTHING I know about making
money with PLR products. The stuff I teach are things that all of
the successful PLR marketers are doing to earn a living solely with
PLR products.

Here’s the link to grab it right now. It’s dirt cheap and won’t be
available forever:

=> PLR Profits Machine

In 2010 I’m focusing entirely on getting the TRUE information
out to the internet marketing community. I’m sick and tired of
all of the rehashed “junk” out there, so not only am I sharing
extremely valuable information in this course, but I’m also making
it ridiculously cheap.

You’ll see for yourself once you get to the site. And please know I
can’t keep it this cheap forever, so get it today if you can. I
promise you’ll be able to afford it once you see just how cheap it
is.

And knowing what I know now, those that pass this offer up will be
angry with themselves when it’s over.

Go grab it while it’s still up.

Martin Scorsese, Hollywood’s great director, in accepting the Golden Globe Award said that he made his films in a way that they would be “easily understood.” This extemporaneous remark caught my attention because in my own writing, that is what I strive for-to be easily understood.

What I think Scorsese implied is that given the many techniques now available to directors, the theme or story may be lost. I agree. Some films I’ve seen are so convoluted that one needs a map to decode the story. And if the story-line may be lost in films -being a medium of images- one can just imagine how easy it is for writers to lose the thread in text narratives.

So, here are three proven tools that really work for me.

Using humble unpretentious words

First, to be easily understood, I labor to use simple, humble, unpretentious words. Simple words make for clear, crisp phrases, clauses, and sentences. Of course some elevated topics need to be conveyed with lofty language, but lofty language doesn’t mean difficult language.

In general, though, even the most challenging topics may be written with plain words. In fiction, master writers go out of their way to inject patches of monosyllabic narration.

Using correlative conjunctions

Because they add clarity, crispness, and fluidity to the narrative, these pairs are quite transparent to the reader; they perform their function in a direct way. Thus we can say that correlative conjunctions don’t call attention to themselves:

both . . . and

either . . . or

just as . . . so

neither . . . nor

not only . . . but also

whether . . . or

Correlative conjunctions are like vessels that carry and move goods, which are the ideas the writer is wishing to convey. By using these pithy words, writers funnel ideas, and in a way, manipulate the readers into absorbing the ideas that make up the theme.

Sentence Openers with correlative conjunctions

In his novelette Breakfast at Tiffany’s, master writer Truman Capote chooses the ‘both … and’ pair as a sentence opener:

“Both Holly and I used to go there six, seven times a day, not for a drink, not always, but to make telephone calls: during the war a private telephone was hard to come by.”

When they (paired conjunctions) are chosen as sentence openers, they stir up the readers’ attention, making them wonder why they have been uprooted from the middle to the front. “Why has the furniture been rearranged?” readers would ask.

Laura Esquivel in her novel Like Water for Chocolate:

“Either her blouse had a wrinkle, or there wasn’t enough hot water, or her braid came out uneven-in short, it seemed Mama Elena’s genius was for finding fault (Esquivel 95).”

In his aesthetics treatise Art as Experience, note how John Dewey, the American philosopher, opens his sentences:

Not only does the direct sense element -and emotion is a mode of sense- tend to absorb all ideational matter, but apart from special discipline enforced by physical apparatus, it subdues and digests all that is merely intellectual (30).

Neither a world wholly obdurate and sullen in the face of man nor one so congenial to his wishes that it gratifies all desired is a world in which art can arise (339).

Neither the savage nor the civilized man is what he is by native constitution but by the culture in which he participates (345).

Either the maker had no experience that was emotionally toned, or although having at the outset a felt emotion, it was not sustained, and a succession of unrelated emotions dictated the work (69).

And in the following example from the Vicar of Wakefield, the narrator by means of the pair -neither … nor- injects a flash forward to advance the story:

“Neither the fatigues and dangers he was going to encounter, nor the friends and mistress, for Miss Wilmot actually loved him, he was leaving behind, [in] any way damped his spirits (Goldsmith 134).”

And Laura Esquivel once again:

Neither she nor Rosaura knew how to make them; when Tita died, her family’s past would die with her (Esquivel 179).

Not only could she crack sack after sack of nuts in a short time, [but] she seemed to take great pleasure in doing it (231).

Master writers exploit the mind’s expectation for closure. When in common speech we hear the expression, “Like waiting for the other shoe to tall,” we quickly grasp and agree that there’s an imminent expectation that perhaps bodes ill. It may not be necessarily so, but we can’t help to expect something nefarious.

With pithy words and correlative conjunctions, professional writers create crisp phrases, clauses, and sentences which morph into “easily understood” paragraphs.

Article marketing is one of the most effective ways to promote your website. This works by submitting useful, unique, and quality content to article directories and websites accepting the posting of your information. This is now becoming popular because of its greatness to provide free traffic to websites creating content.

Posting articles in many article directories and content websites in a regular way can boost traffic to your website in a long-term basis. But there are lots of content creators who do not know to make effective article marketing strategy.

Here are some of the common mistakes in creating and submitting any articles on other websites.

1. Writers do not provide unique and quality content.

Lots of writers are doing this online. They just copy the contents of others and just revise the first paragraph and title of the article or through replacing words with its equivalent meaning. In addition, they do not even read the entire article for its quality.

Branding your name, promoting your business, and generation of leads or visitors to your website are the reasons why you are writing articles. If you are write articles without optimizing it and make it high quality, readers will not be interested to visit your website. In return, you will lose greater amount of traffic.

In writing an article, do not copy and paste the articles previously done by others. Be a creative writer through getting only the ideas on other articles and generate your own. Also, make sure that the content you write are quality enough so that readers will get interested to know more about you and your products.

If other publishers are amazed in your content, they will post in their websites creating backlinks and credibility on your business.

2. Strategic placement of keywords.

Keyword is the heart of every business online. Without using proper keywords on your article, you will lose lots of potential visitors going to your website. This is because you are not using important keywords that are very related to your website contents.

While writing an article, place these important keywords on the title and on the body of the article. Just do not overdo it because search engines and quality article directories may think that you are spamming them.

Also, do not forget to create a resource box because this serves as a link where readers can visit you.

3. Useless content.

This is a shame on part of a writer if readers find that the article is not worth reading. Also, article directories such as Ezine articles may reject your article if they found out that it has lots of grammatical errors.

Checked and recheck your articles for errors in its sentence and paragraph structure. Go direct to the point in writing an article. Readers often expect something good on your article if you have a good title. Make the body of the article answer truthfully what is stated in the title.

Creating a fancy content will not help educate readers and other publishers. Remember, there are millions of websites offering content on various subject imaginable. That is why you need to provide unique content with high quality.

After making sure you have created a good article, submit it to reliable article directories and start accepting targeted visitors on your website.

Avoiding these mistakes in creating an article can help you achieve success more easily in a long-term basis.

A Directory Of Ezine can be a valuable tool that you can use to build your MLM business. Writing free articles to run on an ezine directory has become one of the most targeted and cost effective ways of selling things on the internet these days.

What makes it all the more attractive is that you can achieve massive exposure for your business at virtually zero cost.

It is a great way to advertise your business opportunity. And it works! New internet marketers, and even old timers who’ve given article marketing a try, probably due to a lean purse, have all discovered that this method of marketing is more effective than most people realize.

Of course, our major focus here is how you can use private ezine directories to promote your online business. There are literally hundreds of thousands of article directories out there-at least 300,000.

So chances are no matter what topic you’re writing on, there is a huge audience for your articles. And the best part is that 90% of the directories won’t charge you anything to publish your articles online. However, they all have guidelines or conditions under which they publish your articles.

Ezinearticles.com for example can only publish your article if it has passed their strict editorial guidelines (which in fact you are encouraged to read at their website ever before submitting your articles).

But really, if you understand the purpose of article marketing, you’ll agree that it serves everybody’s interest when your articles are well targeted, grammatically faultless, and compelling to read.

If indeed your articles are poorly written, even if for any reason an article directory accepts it, what impression are you creating in the minds of your readers? Will they likely bother to follow your link?

So your goal should be to put together an informative piece of writing, targeted at a particular audience. And then have these well written separate articles run on as many ezine directories as you desire.

But your choice of which directories to run your articles should not be made randomly.  This is where Directory of Ezine comes to your aid. Use an ezine directory finder, to locate the particular ezine that fits your type of articles.

Remember we told you that there are thousands of article submission sites out there. So using a directory finder, read through the articles you find on each site, and it won’t be long before you decide which directory is best targeted for your type of article.

After confirming that the ezine content matches your article content, next you need to confirm that they are accepting articles, preferably free. If you have a way of knowing who their audience is, fine. If not, that can at least wait until your article begins to attract feedback responses.

Having satisfied yourself that this is the directory on which to publish your article, next you’ll need to approach the editor (all ezine directories have editors who will either accept or reject your articles, based on a number of criteria).

Meanwhile there are things you need to bear in mind when approaching an editor:

After reading some articles on their website, subscribe or sign-up with the ezine. Write a note commending them for the quality of articles on their ezine. Offer to submit your articles to them for review and possible publication. Thank them for their time.

Respond promptly when your attention is needed. Remember that editors are very busy people, so keep all your emails brief and to the point.
If your articles are approved for publication on their ezine, good luck to you.

That means massive exposure for your business. And if the readers take action based on what you wrote, then your article will have achieved its purpose.

Always ensure you include a “resource box” at the end of your articles. This is where you invite the impressed reader to follow you, so to speak!

You don’t need to be a Felix Unger-type to want a clean computer screen. Whether you use the monitor to play games or design skyscrapers, you know that dust, fingerprints, and smudges can make seeing the screen more difficult.

LCD Monitor

If you have a flat screen monitor or a laptop, then the screen is likely an LCD, or liquid crystal display. These are more delicate than their conventional television counterparts and need to be cleaned differently. Here’s how to find the right monitor screen cleaner for your equipment.

Using typical household cleansers can yellow the screen, and, if it’s an abrasive cleaner, can etch the screen. If a harsh product is sprayed directly on the screen, the cleaner can seep into the edges of the monitor and actually corrode the screen’s circuits. Avoid screen disaster by leaving the nasty chemicals for the bathroom. Instead use a specially-made monitor screen cleaner.

One option for is to mix your own cleaning computer screen solution. Some experts recommend mixing equal parts of distilled water and isopropyl alcohol, which is commonly called rubbing alcohol. Others recommend a mix of distilled water and vinegar.

A natural computer screen cleaner is another gentle and effective way to remove dirt and grime. These non-alcohol cleansers are made from organic ingredients that get screens squeaky clean without inflicting damage. As a bonus, natural cleaners are safe for you—and that can be especially important if you’re parked in front the computer all day.

Don’t use newspapers, paper towels or tissues, either. While they’re fine for an old television, they can scratch an LCD monitor or laptop screen. A cleaning computer screen solution should be applied with a soft, clean cloth. Old t-shirts are a safe bet, as well as other natural fiber or microfiber cloths.

CRT Monitor

If you have a bulky monitor that looks like an older television, chances are it’s a CRT, or Cathode Ray Tube, screen. While it’s true that CRT monitors feature a durable glass screen, many of them have anti-glare coatings that require a more delicate touch than a regular household cleanser can provide. Get a clean computer screen safely by using the same high-quality cleaner you’d use for an LCD screen.

No matter which type of monitor you use, remember to spray the computer screen cleaner on the cloth, never directly onto the screen. Canned air products or a very soft, natural bristle brush are a safe way to banish pet hair, dust, or crumbs from the monitor’s nooks and crannies, such as the screen edges. When the cleaning process is finished, wait until the monitor is completely dry before turning it on.
