Writing articles and distributing them over the web is a great and affordable way to increase website traffic. People go online everyday to search for new information. If you write an article or blog with popular keywords and place them on your website, you increase your chances of having visitors come to your site. More traffic to your site means more sales of the product or service you are selling online. For this reason, marketers commonly employ articles and blogs as a strategy to increase website traffic.
There are many topics that you can write about. If for example you are selling home décor products, you can write articles on decoration and design. If you are an accounting firm, you can write articles on tax credits available or how people can budget more wisely. If you provide software or IT services, you can write about new and emerging technologies or trends in your industry. Whatever your business is, there is always something to write about. The key is to be creative.
Many business owners however, find themselves too busy to write. For this reason, many people hire professional writers or a writing services company. These companies often are very affordable and can save you time and money. Online advertising has proven to be way more affordable than traditional advertising, therefore investing some money each month in article marketing is a great return on investment.
When working with a writing service company, it is important to always clarify your expectations first by letting them know about your business and what you are looking to achieve. If you can think of a few topics to get started, that helps the writer as well. Also, think about what your audience is interested in and have your writer focus on this. Make sure that you hire writers with experience with article marketing.

Often times I read a lot of dos and don’ts on a lot of topic on blogging. If you are the type that wants to follow all those rules to the letter then I must tell you one real truth-you are missing the real thing. My advice to you on what to do and not do on your blog is simple and straight-do everything you want to do on your blog, write your articles on anything you wish to write about. Yes, including most of the don’ts you are advised not to write about on your blog. Feel free to express yourself, write your articles on those topics they tell you not to write about like; don’t write about your cat, don’t talk about personal issues and what not. The truth is that most of what you’ve been told are the best techniques, methods or things to do to attract people to your blog/website are things that are still undergoing experiments, some of them are still being tested and no one can really tell how long they can keep up with their performance as the internet is still evolving. Though, there are methods that have given good results over time. They are still some of those methods that begin to under-perform after some time and in most cases fail completely. You have to think original. Give your blog a sense of ownership. Write articles on topics that interest you even when it goes against the rules of getting you more traffic. Ask yourself, what do I want my blog to be about? The choice has to be made between your own story and a lot of stereo types out there. But try as much as possible to be more presentable when you are writing about things that people might not be too interested in. Make your titles very catchy and attractive. Everybody needs a break sometimes and don’t forget that your readers need that too, because they are humans too.

You have a website, and you need to promote it. You might want to consider some articles and article marketing. It is a very easy concept and it can really work wonders for the traffic on your website, but it won’t happen immediately, it will take some time.
Whether you write the articles, or hire someone else to write them, you then post the articles on an article directory website, such as ArticlesBase.com where this first appeared, if you are reading this elsewhere.
When people see and read your article, they may choose to click on the link in your article, and they will suddenly be transported to your website! Bingo! There’s some traffic! Now, the story gets better, because there are people who know that it is a great idea to post new content every single day, to attract attention from the search engines, such as Google! So, some of these folks will re-post some of your articles, which will give you more exposure.
Then the really exciting news is that you will be creating more and more links to your website, which will help you move up in the Search Engine Rankings. For example, when you punch a certain keyword or phrase into Google, then the first page is where many people want to be.
“The person who says it cannot be done should not interrupt the person who is doing it.” -Chinese proverb

Squidoo is a very popular and highly effective Web 2.0 property. You can easily post your content to this site as an alternative to creating a full blog. Marketers as well as the general public can greatly benefit from its popularity and ranking. Here are some tips on how to quickly and easily build your first Squidoo lenses.
Choose your desired username VERY carefully – While it does not need to be the cause of lost sleep and migraines, you do need to keep in mind that once you choose a username in the setup process it is set and cannot be changed. For marketers this will be particularly important. What are you trying to brand? Use THAT, or some form of it, as your username.
Read and follow all “Squid-Don’ts” – These are a set of guidelines that tell you what is NOT acceptable within the Squidoo community. If you do not follow these statutes you WILL be banned and your content removed. The site does have a system that filters the content as it is posted, but anything that is allowed to post can still be removed if found not to comply with their restrictions and rules.
Avoid the Magic Builder – Once you sign in to your account, the site takes you to a page that says “I want to make a page about . . .” Completing this statement takes you to the “magic builder” which is meant to guide you through building the lens. I find it a bit confusing. So, what I do is this. Once I’m ready to write my lens, I go up to my browser window and add to the url the address I would like to give my lens. For example, if I’m posting this article on the site, after the address squidoo.com, I would add “how_to_squidoo”. (It would look like this squidoo.com/how_to_squidoo). If the address is available, I will land on a page that says I can take it over, so I do! It will then guide me through a process to build the lens. This is similar to magic builder, but a lot less complicated and involved.
Add several Modules – Lenses are divided into modules. Try to have at least 4 modules in your lens. Modules can be text, photo, links, comments, links to social media, among others. One of my favorites, as an internet marketer, is the “Big Arrow” modules, which allows you to add anchor text to a specific link and makes the link nearly impossible to miss.
Make it Attractive, Add Pictures – People love pictures. Adding pictures to your lens will make it much more attractive to readers. Since the lens is posted online, pictures also help break up the text so that it is easier to read on the computer.
Use your Word Editor to write your content BEFORE creating your lens – This will really help you create the lens quickly and easily. Write your entire content using a word editor. Then, separate the paragraphs into two or three sections. When you do this, keep in mind that you will be asked to include an intro module. Make sure each set of paragraphs makes sense together. Write a short heading for each group of paragraphs. You will be asked for the heading as you create the modules. When you are ready, simply cut and past the content into your modules.
Tagging your Lens– I save this step to last. If you are NOT an internet marketer, then this section is not all that relevant, so just write a few words or phrases that describe what your lens is about. This is just to help others find your post. For those of you who ARE marketers, you can add up to 40 tags by clicking on the “add more tags” button. You do not need that many, though. Make sure you do your keyword research and add tags which are relevant to your content. Remember, that your lens will only be indexed if the content is relevant to the tag
There you have it! Some very simple and effective tips to help you build your first Squidoo lenses. It is not rocket science, and it even helps you get indexed on the search engines without spending a penny.

Jasmine Tea is termed as the most popular and fragrant tea in the world. The tea is delicate, light, light sweet and each cup has delicate scent. Jasmine is available in all worldwide markets; it could frequently be acquired from almost all large grocery stores and special tea shops too. A large number of people know very well jasmine tea since it is regularly offered at almost all big restaurants.
The habit of leaving dried flowers in the tea is in fact somewhat widespread, and numerous fresh and flavoured teas comprise dried flowers, otherwise a large variety to enliven things at some stage in the brewing progression.
Usually Jasmine tea can be categorized into Jasmine-flower, Jasmine-dragon-pearl, Hand-tied and Jasmine-Silver Needle.
Jasmine tea usually is made from smooth loose leaf. Green tea leaves obviously fragranced by sheets of Arabian-jasmine shoots. In some parts of the world, Jasmine teas are usually served with appetizing meals. The jasmine-tea can be categorized more than 10 diverse grades based on the quality of the green tea and the times when jasmine is scented.
Jasmine Pearls are usually a green, and are made from top 2 leaves and the shoots of new season’s growth. After that these fragile leaves are rolled with hands into the small and tiny pearls. When you instil these pearls in the cup, you’ll see the topmost two leaves and the sprout come to life. Actually you’ll see a few small ‘hairy downs’ on the bud of the leaves – this indicates wonderful quality and, very cautious and subtle handling. The flavour of the tea becomes smooth with pleasing and delicate flavour, and a divine jasmine character.
Jasmine tea, tied with hands is only formed by the skilled and artistic hands. They are picked from young shoots in the spring with fresh aromatic tea leaves as of superb tea producing regions. The high quality tea is formed from young shoots (buds) picked up in spring with delicate fragrant leaves which are thus rolled in the form of the different shapes and afterward scented with the Jasmine flowers. And also this tea has artificial name, for instance, Snow dragon, Jade butterfly, Jasmine flower daughter ring, Butterfly tea, Five stars, Butterfly net etc. These teas unfold quietly in warm water to discharge a clean, soft taste with jasmine scent. It is in fact exceptional and interesting Tea among jasmine tea collection.
Jasmine dragon is the most exquisite and finest Jasmine tea. Distinguished by its pleasant and sweet fragrance, this tea has specialty due to the tea that is used as its base, the scenting process, and the care taken afterward. Researchers have found that the people who drink green tea regularly have a lesser chance to be afflicted by cancer or suffer heart diseases. It is a great and wonderful tasting healthy tea for every one to drink and relish its taste and aroma!

There are so many ways small businesses can advertise. Most marketing strategies for small business need to be low cost. The smaller the business, the less room there is for error and the tinier the marketing budget.
Fortunately, it’s not that difficult to find a lot of things that are very affordable. Today, however we’re going to look at article marketing which is completely free and serves two purposes.
First, you have the SEO potential of article marketing. Depending on which directories you submit to, you can end up with some very highly ranked backlinks to your site. That can really boost the rank of your site, too, especially when there are several articles in the top results for your keywords.
The second result of article marketing is direct traffic from those articles. People actually do read them, so if you have used your keywords well, you can easily gain hundreds of visitors, in addition to the boost in rankings. That’s two benefits in one!
Article marketing is very simple if you know how to write, but it can be quite time consuming. That’s why so many people try to just outsource everything. The problem is that if you are outsourcing the writing to a writer and getting a virtual assistant to handle the article submissions, it can start to get pretty costly. You need low cost if you want to stay in business, no matter how great the marketing is!
Before outsourcing, have a clear idea of what you want. Take the time to research your keywords and decide precisely what you want from your outsourcing people. They will work better with clear instructions, so be sure to instruct them. Then you can start looking at other free marketing strategies for business and see how they can work with the article marketing to help build up a marketing network that will really promote your system.

One of the most popular ways to promote affiliate products is by starting a review blog. The only problem with this is that there is mega competition. Hundreds of these blogs sprout up every day. But there is good news also. Hundreds fail and shut down everyday.
Don’t get the wrong idea. I’m not wishing failure on anyone. On the contrary. I wouldn’t write this blog if I didn’t want to help people make money online. The fact is that people fail because they dive in head first without doing any research. That’s what I’m going to try to help you avoid.
The first thing you are going to need to do is decide what platform you are going to use to do your reviews on. If you are new to affiliate marketing, chances are you don’t have a lot of money to invest right off the bat. Lucky for you, there are several free platforms available like Blogger and WordPress.
You need to be careful if you use a free blog platform because you don’t have total control over the content. By that, I mean the company who runs the service can take your blog down at their fancy. And it does happen, so you really need to be aware of their terms of service before you start your blog.
That’s why it’s really a good idea to shell out $10 or $15 a month and get a domain and some hosting. There are a lot of reliable hosting providers and they often have lots of specials going on. They also feature Fantastico, which facilitates the installment of your blog in just a few clicks.
Once you’ve got your blog up and running, you’ll need a product to review. There are many affiliate networks around, but Clickbank is by far the most popular, and in my opinion, has the best selection of products to choose from.
Selecting a product isn’t something that should be taken lightly. The product should relate to the theme, or niche, of your review blog. I’m sure you’ve heard the word “niche” used many times by members of the internet marketing community. Put simply, a niche is nothing more than a topic, or subject.
A niche can be a general topic, or it can be a more specific element of a topic. Usually it’s better to get as specific as possible, so that you can hone in on a specialized market and rank higher on the search engines. But that’s a topic for another time.
When selecting your niche product to review, there are a few factors that come into play. They are:
1. Commission – Is the commission high enough to make it worth your while to promote? Pick a product with at least a $10 commission, or it’s just not worth the effort to promote.
2. Price – Is the product reasonably priced? If it’s priced too high, potential buyers won’t think it a value. If it’s priced too low, there won’t be room to pay a decent commission and it can appear to buyers as a low quality product.
3. Affiliate Resources – What does the vendor provide to help you promote the product? There should be some banners, articles, videos, ebook covers, emails, or other materials to help you promote the product to the best of your ability.
4. External Links – Does the sales page have a big “affiliates” link at the bottom? This isn’t preferable because once the potential buyer realizes that they can become an affiliate and get the product for a lower price, they won’t puirchase through your link.
5. How old is the product? Outdated, older products or products with a newer version available tend to convert very poorly, if at all.
If you have a product in mind, and it fits most of the above criteria, chances are it’s a good one to go ahead and review.
Now it’s time to work on the most important part of your review blog-the reviews! Before you write a product review, make it a point to look at other blogs who have reviewed the same product. Find out what you can do to capitalize on those reviews by making them better.
There are going to be many reviews of the product on many different blogs. Some good, some not so good. The question you need to be asking is, “What is going to make a buyer trust your review over those of other bloggers?” Well, there is a multi-part answer. First of all, you need to make your blog into an “authority” site.
What’s an authority site? Usually it’s one that’s been around for a while, with lots of continually refreshed content, comments, and backlinks. This is something that will come with time.
The best way to establish yourself is to focus on only one niche. A common mistake many bloggers make is to start more than one blog at a time. Instead, start one blog and focus all of your energy on making it great and giving people the content they want.
Here are some elements of a good review:
1. Headline – Your post headline needs to be punchy, provocative, and playful (the three P’s). It’s a good idea to structure it in the form of a question. Another effective headline is a numbered headline. For example: “3 Things You Need To Know About Such & Such.”
2. Introduction – A good introduction should be able to “hook” the reader in and get them to keep reading. Get the reader to relate to the product by using the word “you” a lot. The introduction needs to quickly summarize the product and what it does, and what it promises to do.
3. Images – It’s a good idea to include an image of the product (you can usually get these from the sales page). You might also include screen shots of the product in action, or “money shots”. Money shots are pictures of someone’s account that shows the product made them money.
4. Pros And Cons – As far as I’m concerned, this is the meat of your review. Talk about the good things the product has to offer, but also talk about what you don’t like. Be honest! I can’t stress this enough. Yes, you are trying to sell a product, but it’s of absolutely no benefit to you if someone purchases the product on your recommendation and hates it. This can ruin your credibility, and halt your review blogging career dead in its tracks!
5. Proof – This goes back to the whole idea of “money shots”. Screenshots or other proof that the product does what it says it’s going to do are key factors in influencing a potential buyer. Videos work great here. You don’t even have to make your own. You can often find tutorials for most products on video sharing sites.
6. Conclusion – This should be a short paragraph that wraps up and summarizes the review. If you started your review with a question, now is the time to answer it. You can also include your product rating here. A good example of a conclusion is something like, “You may be new to article marketing, but the Handy Dandy Article Spinner will make your job a lot easier and give you a clear advantage over other Bum Marketers. I give this product a 4 out of 5.”
7. Call to Action – This is something that a lot of marketers leave out, and it’s a fatal mistake. All it is a prompt for the reader to click your affiliate link. It can be somehing simple, like “If you liked this review and want some more information about how this product can benefit you, visit (affiliate link here).”
Writing a review isn’t difficult, and you don’t have to follow a set system. The more reviews you write, the more comfortable you’ll get. Your review should be personable. Write as if you are talking to a friend. Include personal experiences or a story about how the product helped you or made you money.
A good strategy is to publish a really extensive review on your blog, then summarize it and submit the condensed version to several article directories. Link back to your blog in your resource box and tell the readers they will find a more extensive review there.
Follow these simple principles, have a little faith and patience, and you’ll be on your way to becoming a successful review blogger.

Much has been touted about the effectiveness of article writing in the promotion of their business. While everyone raves about its benefits I’ll look into a few quirks. Visit Here now http://www.netcontentseo.net
Too much junk- You can’t even imagine the amount of rehash material that is being passed off as something in which the reader can find valuable. Some writers rush to put out their work putting quantity over quality. It pays to be original when you are into article writing. Well, I have slack up sometimes on this one.
Takes Time- Due to the multitude of writers entering this field, it will probably take six months to a year for others to become familiar with you and your writing style. Once this is accomplished you can expect some fans.
High Readership, Low Conversion- There has been times when I have published an article that got good readership but fail to convert into respectable sales or subscribers. The resource box is key I found out if you want to improve your conversions.
If you don’t have a quality article the chances of someone reading your resource box is low and their cursor won’t make it to your website link. When you do get them to view your resource box, your message has to highlight its benefits to get that valued click thru.
Loss of Valuable Links- While article writing has been important in boosting my page rank, this has not always been the case as I thought. Doing some research on some of my articles through the search engines, I realized that not every webmaster provides a live link in my resource box. Failing to do so is sure to cost some valuable back links.
You could be a victim- Of what? Copyism. I have seen articles where the writer “lifted” a few paragraphs here and there, did a little editing and presto a new article is born. I guess there is no escaping this as it also happens offline.
Lack of Editing- It might take you just a few minutes to whip up that latest article but those few minutes might affect the quality of your work. Proof reading and editing can sometimes be painstaking not to mention the submission process especially if done by hand.
Woeful Spelings- Got that one? Proper spelling is important as too many mistakes can affect your credibility. You might get away with one but definitely not four.
Grammar- This is in the same vein as spelling. If your grammar sounds like that of a toddler, then don’t expect readers to be impressed. You don’t need to have the writing skills of a poet, but with a little practice and research you can vastly improve.
Sales copy – You know these well. Some authors write articles that belongs in the classifieds. In their articles they blatantly advertise their services with the hope of readers visiting their website. A benefit laden article will always produce the best results.
Too much links- Nothing peeves me than to get an article to run in my newsletter but when I read it through it is littered. These links can confuse the reader and also reduces the potential of your resource box.
These are a few quirks I found to be associated with the writing and promotion of articles. And I did say ten items but I will just throw in an extra. What is it? Go ahead and proceed with your article writing. While there are some negatives it does work. Why would I be writing this one if it didn’t? Visit Here now http://www.netcontentseo.net

Content is king! If you own, run or maintain an internet business you know you need content, and articles can be that content. Even if you haven’t started your online venture you know this. Are you putting off starting because you don’t like to write?
Content brings the search engines to your site. Visitors stay or return because of excellent content. Keyword laden content is what makes your site visible in your niche. Articles also provide attraction to website visitors when they are linked to from another site or newsletter. Articles provide for the trust level of visitors to your site and sales page.
Having many quality articles is good to both your site and its traffic. If readers like the articles, they tell more of their friends, family and peers and recommend your site to them, providing for a bigger volume of traffic. You get more sales if your traffic trusts and believes in you.
Most of us would rather spend our time doing something else. Writing articles is not everyone’s idea of fun, and unless you’re a big, you don’t have the necessary budget to hire a pool of article writers. Plagiarism is frowned upon, and hurts your credibility.
So what do you do beside writing them yourself?
Well, for starters if you don’t like to write articles and you can’t afford to hire writers then don’t. Get free articles. The first place to look for free articles is the public domain. Here you won’t have problems with copyright infringement or plagiarism.
Public domain articles are articles freely given to the public for public use. You can do whatever you want with them. You can place them on your site, name them as yours, put them in a newsletter – it’s your decision. Always remember though, to choose articles that are relevant to your site.
The downside to public domain articles is that since they are free for everyone, many of your competitors may have access to them as well. Since every site needs to be original and unique even though it is in a common niche, this could be a problem. You may also have to edit them a bit to modify the number and placement of keywords and keyword phrases to make them better.
Another way to get free articles is to allow other websites which have the same subject or topic as yours to submit articles to your site.
This would be only to augment your existing content or else all your articles would be leading to other websites since these articles would have resource boxes with them that could link or direct the readers to their site. That’s why it is important to have your own articles; you could use them to link your site to other websites as well.
Tip: to truly feel the impact of what a good article can do for you, get original ones. There are many article writers who would do part time and freelance article writing jobs, charging only minimal fees. You can get plenty of good articles written for just a little money that have all the keywords and keyword phrases you need.
The investment, whether money or time writing your own articles goes very far because you can use the articles in many ways. You own them and you will be able to use them however you want. If you don’t like to write, you don’t have to.

Many of us find that the Internet is about as perfect a tool for doing it as has ever existed. The funny part is all about what lengths we will go to in search of the perfect business that won’t cost us much, if anything, to develop, become a part of, or dream about.
I’ve thrown plenty of good money after bad in my online pursuit of financial stardom in the last 11 years. It’s downright hilarious what scams I’ve succumbed to. But, it’s a learning process, too. I have gotten involved in more than a few “if it sounds too good to be true, then it probably is” shell games in my time. I wished I hadn’t, but I might as well come clean. I know how to spot them now a mile away.
While there are plenty of great places to put your time and effort into, finding just the right thing for you to do can be somewhat overwhelming. But, if you are as nuts as I am, and as passionate as a tent revival preacher (which I am not, by the way), you can find success sooner or later online.
That’s what I’m banking on. And my job is to show you the way, too.

Article marketing is one of the dreaded methods of marketing for internet marketers because of its uncanny ability to make your mind numb. Imagine if you have a 20-article per day quota and you are writing the articles yourself. That is a lot of articles to write and since you are writing articles for marketing, you need to optimize it and that takes much more work than just writing articles because you just want to say something about a specific topic or you are doing it for the sake of writing.
If you want to make article marketing your primary source of traffic to your website or websites, here are some tips:
1. Outsource
If you have some budget for your marketing, this is by far the most recommended thing to do. There are a lot of freelance writers out there who are willing to write articles for you. This is just like doing pay per click advertising but way much better. Let us say you bought a decent article for five dollars. In pay per click, five dollars may range from more or less five to ten clicks depending on the competitiveness of your advertisement. With an article however, you can get hundreds of clicks from that five dollar article that you bought especially if it will stay at the top of search engine results.
2. Spy
If you don’t have the budget to outsource but have all the time in the world to write and optimize articles, then spying will suit you best. To do this, simply check out other authors’ articles and get ideas from those articles. This is completely legal since you are not copying their work. You are simply getting ideas from them. Be warned though that this is a very consuming thing to do both in time and in effort.
3. Spin articles…manually
Spinning articles using programs and sites is a big no especially if you are using your real name. Credibility is at stake here. Besides, spun articles are usually denied on a few major article directories. Manually spinning them on the other hand not only makes the spun articles look like a unique content but it will also surely be accepted. So if you have bought or written a lot of articles, just edit them a little. You can even make a whole new article just by reading those old ones. Another tip is that if you have articles that are not doing pretty well, try to read them again, get the essence of the thought, and write a completely new one.
I agree that writing optimized articles is a mind numbing thing to do but hopefully, these article marketing tips will make it tolerable.

Article writing has the potential to expand an online business in a substantial way. Most, if not all, articles that are written remain in circulation in the article directories for years to come. If it is a well-written and informative article, it could remain for decades. Often a well-written, content rich article is shared and republished by other readers of the article.
The substantial way an article can grow your business is when your article becomes viral. By becoming viral there is a high percentage chance that someone is reading what you have to say and if there are proper back links to your own website those who are reading your article may visit your website twenty four hour a day seven day a week.
So writing articles to market a product or service is a great way to build a business. Nevertheless, there are a few tips when writing an article that can get your article read by many.
The articles must be informative and is relevant to a specific topic. An informative and relevant article is an article that shares some degree of knowledge that the reader can utilize or take away and use in their business. Some times, there may be web links to web pages that may offer courses or webinars to learn further or even web pages to sell products relating to the subject.
The article must also stay on subject. One of the worst things to do is to write an article that does not support the topic.
How does a writer get his/her articles out to the public?
Article banks or directory is the most effective way to distribute your article. Article banks and directories receive a tremendous exposure and some are actually free.
Moreover, there are directories that are topic specific. For example, if your article is about shoes there are article directories that cater to articles written specifically about shoes. In addition, price is not a factor on whether an article directory is effective or not.
You must test the site for your self for effectiveness. Before committing fully send one or two articles and see the response statistic rate. Also, find other articles relating to your subject and see where those articles were posted.
Do your due diligence when searching for article directories to submit your articles to. Join a forum. A forum is a place where people gather on line and share ideas and asks questions on a variety of subjects. Forums are free and fun because you get to interact with people from all over the world.
Ezine publication is another vehicle an article writer can use to submit his article to. The same rules that apply to article directories also apply to ezine publication sites. The term ezine is derived by the combination of magazine and electronic. Ezine are magazines sent to subscribers electronically.
As an article writer, you must have a way for you to keep contact with your readers. If you are building a business on line and using article as a medium to attract visitors to your site, you should have a link that navigates back to your site or blog. On your site or blog, there should be a section that asks for their name and email. Embedded into that section should be an auto responder.
Remember the readers of your articles are your potential customers. Therefore, having an avenue were you can keep in touch by email is a great way to spread your message, build your business and recruit more people.

Hiring a Ghostwriter, Copywriter or Article Expert can be a difficult task. You may not have the slightest notion of where to start. You may not know what questions to ask, or where to find a writer, or you feel it is task difficult to outsource, or you feel you need to remain in control, or you may not know how to qualify a good writer, and there many other questions that run through your mind.
Online business owners need fresh and consistent content for many business needs. Give yourself that well-deserved time and hire a Ghostwriter to help you, and then you go and enjoy the things that are important to you. As your business grows, and if you want to remain competitive and successful, you will have to outsource some of your tasks and projects. Go ahead, give up just some of that control and focus on what you do best for your business, while the Ghostwriter works their magic.
Hiring a Ghostwriter will help you gain traffic, build back-links, convey your expertise, build trust, increase visibility, showcases you as the “go-to” resource and expert, reduce stress, save you money, and overall, a much simpler and enjoyable life.
Here are a few tips when hiring a Ghostwriter.
1. Define Your Needs
It’s imperative that you define your needs to determine exactly what it is you are hoping to accomplish. Do you need web content, article marketing, blog posts, newsletters, press releases, special reports, email campaigns, eBooks or white papers? Not only will this give you a clear picture, but it will also help in describing it to your potential Ghostwriter. Writers need as much information up front in order to give you a fair and accurate rate for your tasks. So, be ready with some clear objectives, schedules, and deadlines.
2. Interview the Chosen Ghostwriter
Okay, so you’ve done your research and located some potential ghostwriters, now conduct an interview with them. Have a list of interview questions already set up and ready to go. Ask specific questions related to your niche, services, or industry. Ask for references from previous clients, and/or samples of their work. Don’t be afraid to ask tons of detailed questions. You need to be sure you are comfortable with what they can produce, and if they have the experience you seek.
3. Pricing and Rates
One of the biggest mistakes you can make is choosing a Ghostwriter based only on their rates. Remember, you get what you pay for, and this is a reflection on you as well. Ghostwriters just write the content; however, that content represents you as if you wrote it, and shines a light on you as the expert in your niche. So be careful when choosing someone with the lowest rates. I would recommend getting rid of the lowest and highest bids you have received. Work within the middle range and you are more apt to find that perfect match to produce your content.
4. Writing Samples and Portfolios
Always ask for writing samples, clips, links to published work, and references. You may not need all of those to determine the best Ghostwriter for your needs, but figure out what would represent their writing style the best and go with that. After they have provided all of that and you’re still not sure, ask them to write a short sample of the sort of content you specifically need. You might even consider hiring them for a short trial run to determine if they can consistently provide the right content. Have them possibly create two or three blogs posts or a couple articles for a couple weeks with the understanding this is a trial run with no further commitments. This will show you what sort of “voice” they use and if it will fit into your niche and industry.
5. Ownership of Written Material
Very important to set clear and detailed objectives as to who will own the work once the writing is completed. Ghostwriters should know that the content they produce will be owned by you with no reference to them at all. There are some variations to this though, and that certainly needs further discussion with your Ghostwriter. Make sure you convey what you are expecting. This is also something you may consider adding to your service agreement contract or your non-disclosure agreement.
6. Warranty or Guarantee
You might consider having a support clause or warranty to ensure you have continued support once the project is completed. You might need some slight changes, updates or corrections to your completed project. These are terms than can be negotiated by specifying a certain amount of free support, or discounted rates for any modifications you may need within a reasonable time frame. This will save you money, time and stress in the future.
7. Service Agreement
In most cases, the Ghostwriter will provide a service agreement before work commences. It is critical to be protected and have in writing specific details of the writing project. Things like a cancellation policy, change policy, non-disclosure, warranty clause, payment intervals, work ownership, and rates. If there happens to be changes, make sure to get it in writing and both parties agree. Additionally, keep records of emails, service agreement modifications, and any other correspondence pertaining to your project.
8. Etiquette and Housekeeping
Always be considerate and respectful of your Ghostwriter’s time. In most cases they have other clients they service in addition to your project. We know there are going to be things come up that are totally out of our control and cannot be helped, but keep in mind and try to avoid the following: adding more to your project once it has already been determined, changing a deadline (especially moving it up), asking for additional services for free, calling at odd hours of the day (adhere to their office or working hours), emailing every time you think of something (wait and send one email with everything you need).
Above all, be honest, kind, dependable, understanding, ethical, and respectful. With those attributes, you and your Ghostwriter will have an outstanding long-term relationship that will ultimately result in increased sales. That’s what we are all aiming for right?
Take time to incorporate these eight steps into your Ghostwriter search and you’ll end up with the perfect fit for you and your business. Finding, hiring, and assembling the right outsourcing staff is worth the time and investment. It will save you tons of headaches down the line.
What are some of the guidelines you go by when seeking outside help? Do you outsource any writing projects? Leave a comment and share some of your expertise. Thanks for your time!
