Advantage of Wind Energy

Wind energy has been used for ages, but technology in recent years has made it a lot easier to harness and use. The cost has dropped 80% since the 80s and will continue to decrease throughout the years to come.

Now more people than ever can afford a wind turbine in their back yard. Many have gone as far as building their own in fact. But most of us will want to purchase an efficient one from a well known company.

Many businesses are coming around to alternative energy. They are seeing the advantages of saving money and being efficient.

Many wind farms are starting up, especially in Texas and California. Germany is the world’s leader providing more wind power than any other country.

Wind farms have a large number of turbines working together to produce large quantities of power. These farms will help take the burden off of traditional power supply companies and do so in a cleaner more environmental friendly way.

One utility scale wind turbine could save around 5000 tons of Co2. That’s very environmental friendly.

The advantage of wind energy is that it’s a clean renewable energy source with plenty of supply.  The wind continues to blow day and night. Of course location is key. If you don’t have enough wind then it could be a waste of your investment.

Recent advantages have made it easier to harness the wind’s energy. While these improvements unfold throughout the coming years, so does the possibilities of owning our very own power plant right in our back yard.

Wind turbines will not add pollution to our planet and is a renewable source of clean energy.

Economical advantages result from the cheap source of renewable energy. As long as there is wind the turbines will continue to produce electric power.

Another advantage of wind energy is that it’s available around the world.

Germany is the leader of the world’s wind power and supplies 3.5 % of its energy from the wind. Germany has plans to expand this on a wide basis. They are even placing them out to sea.

Texas comes in fairly close at 3% of its total energy provided by wind power. It is at the top in the United States.

These new projects are adding jobs. With over 40 projects they are providing 6200 mega watts of electricity from these turbines.

Since Texas gets plenty of wind it’s a perfect location to take advantage of wind energy.

California is right behind Texas and they are expanding as well. These expansions will continue for years into the future.

Here is a list of the advantages of wind energy

  • Low production cost
  • Virtually free energy after installation
  • Cheap distribution
  • Great option for remote areas
  • Pollution free
  • Renewable energy
  • Steady supply of wind in the right location
  • Environmental friendly

So there you have it. Wind power is here to stay and growing every year. If you live in a windy location then you can take advantage of wind energy saving your resources and helping the environment too.

How would you feel looking out your window and seeing your wind generator supplying you with clean efficient energy? Probably pretty good when you check out your low utility bills.
