I Am New To Article Marketing, Where Should I Start?
This is a common question when starting out. There are lots of things you need to think about. Three important things to consider are:
Keyword research
Finding the ‘starving’ part of your niche
Getting my article on front page of Google
Eliminating Google ranking factors. How do you get on the front page of Google without learning the algorithms? You can easily find great keywords which have very little competition. Is Article Marketing The Best Free Traffic Strategy?
In my opinion, yes, article marketing gives you a chance to not only share information people are looking for, but it allows you to make a bond with the reader. You can inject your personality into your writing.
My favorite thing to do in my writing is to first make a statement. Then I describe a personal experience that relates to, and validates the statement. Remember, facts tell, stories sell. It can be absolutely anything.
If you take a quiet moment and think, you can relate any experience you had that day, to a statement. Let me give you an example.
I wrote a quick article after I watched guitar legend Steve Vai in concert on TV. It struck me how different his delivery, or performance was. Sure there are other great guitar players out there, but he differentiated himself by the way he delivered it.
My point was, how do you differentiate yourself from your competition who have the same information or product as you? What makes you different?
The more you practice this, these thoughts will just start coming to you effortlessly.
I Can’t Write Good Articles
You may find yourself saying this because of the last example I gave. Your articles may be just some basic fact by fact layout. Your articles don’t even interest you! I highly recommend using the ‘story’ exercise. Make your facts ‘pop’ by injecting a story which the reader will take interest in. Entertain your reader.
Go to ezinearticles.com for example, and type in the keyword phrase or topic you are writing about. Read the top ten articles. What makes them different? Anything? Most offer no value other than the facts they provide. That is great if the reader is specifically looking for those facts and knows what they need. But those who don’t yet know what they are looking for will not find that article any more valuable than the next.

I have given my best suggestion on how to write interesting articles above. However, if you are looking for the basics on how to research and actually put together a great article in a short amount of time, I suggest you check out a buddy of mine.
