Most publishing websites prefer content pieces written between 500 and 750 words. Apart from being informative and precise, they should be formatted to:

65 characters per line including spaces
Written in short paragraph.

A) Uploaded content should be unique

Your written piece should be unique and free from plagiarism. In other words, do not follow copy-paste activity. Article directories’ editors are very strict and they may ban you from submitting any more articles.

Most directories prefer articles between 500 and 750 words and it is wise to read the guidelines before submitting your article.

C) Catchy Title

Using an interesting title will attract your reader to read your piece. Don’t forget that you have to satisfy not just your readers but also the search engines.

D) Short Sentences

As I mentioned earlier, format each sentence to 60-65 words per line before submitting it for publication. And cut-short the long sentences into two.

Writing short paragraphs will not make your readers’ eyes tired.

Author Bio or Resource Box should not be longer than 6 lines and it must carry your name, website address, a unique offer, and action required.

An article carrying spelling mistakes and grammatical errors portrays you as an unprofessional. In short, editors will automatically reject those articles.

Most directories usually allow simple HTML codes such as bold, italics, emphasis, underline, hard return, block-quote, numbered, or bullet point lists.

Avoid using affiliate URLs in your article body or resource box, as they will be rejected immediately. Most publishers don’t allow promoting someone else’s offer but if you need to promote an affiliate URL, invite reader to your website, then place your affiliate URL on the landing page.

J) Avoid penning down a sales letter or copy

Your written and uploaded articles should be informative carrying tips, how to, business strategies, and techniques. These points will help make your reader hooked up with your pieces. You can also share your expertise on the particular subject.

After writing is finished, get it checked from an expert or even read it loudly. It has been seen that reading it loudly will make you find mistakes that you failed to locate. After all, improving your editorial effectiveness will attract more readers to your website.

I don’t think that 65 per line is relevant today.

In fact, it would goof up the formatting because most directories format it their way.
